Job Summary
The Technology Specialist delivers expert onsite IT support to residential and corporate clients, resolving issues, implementing solutions, and ensuring a professional, clear, and trustworthy customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve technology issues onsite at customers homes and offices to restore optimal functionality.
- Optimize wireless networks to enhance network performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and repair hardware and software issues on Mac and Windows PCs.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot WiFi networks, routers, firewalls, printers, peripherals, servers, NAS devices, backup systems, mobile devices (iOS, Android, Microsoft), email services (Outlook, Office 365, Google Workspace), VPN/DNS services, home entertainment systems, smart devices, and surveillance systems.
- Assess customer needs to design and propose tailored technical solutions that meet their requirements.
- Communicate complex technical information clearly and simply to customers to facilitate understanding and decision-making.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through professionalism, transparency, and timely communication.
- Protect customer confidentiality and ensure compliance with PDPA data protection regulations.
- Accurately document all work performed for billing and job tracking purposes.
- Maintain tidy, safe, and professional work environments at customer premises.
- Manage and safeguard company equipment and high-value stock to prevent loss or damage.
- Collaborate with and support fellow Technology Specialists as needed to ensure service excellence.
- Pursue continuous self-directed learning to stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma in ICT, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- In-depth knowledge of networking and operating systems (Windows and MacOS).
- Experience configuring Active Directory and firewalls.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in advanced PC setup, diagnostics, repair, and network troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of systems and infrastructure security principles.
- Proficient in written and spoken English to communicate effectively with clients.
- Valid driving license to travel to customer sites.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or equivalent certification.
- Apple Certified Technician credential.
- Experience managing small technical teams.
- Experience working with Windows server environments.
