We are seeking a highly capable Infrastructure Engineer for our client to support a large-scale enterprise environment, operating across hybrid infrastructure both (on-premises and AWS cloud platforms)
This is a 12-month contract opportunity within a leading global consulting environment
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, configure, and manage network security and connectivity components, including firewalls, routers, switches, and cloud-based security groups across hybrid environments.
- Ensure high availability and resilience of network infrastructure, supporting both internal enterprise systems and external integrations.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex network incidents involving routing, latency, security breaches, and performance degradation.
- Manage patching, firmware upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance of network devices and virtual appliances, ensuring compliance with security and audit standards.
- Maintain and continuously update network topology diagrams, IP schemas, and technical documentation aligned with infrastructure changes.
- Monitor network performance, bandwidth utilization, and capacity trends, proactively identifying risks and recommending optimization strategies.
- Support audit, compliance, and governance activities, ensuring adherence to enterprise security policies and industry best practices.
Requirements / Skill Expectations
- Strong hands-on experience with enterprise network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, and cloud networking (AWS preferred).
- Deep understanding of IP networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing protocols, subnetting, and network security principles.
- Proven ability in complex troubleshooting, incident management, and performance tuning in high-availability environments.
- Exposure to hybrid cloud environments and integration between on-prem and cloud networks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to operate in fast-paced, enterprise-scale environments.
