About the Role

As Technical Architect at ADataCompany, you will design and oversee the architecture of ADEX-our core platform that digitizes millions of trade documents and automates customs declarations for freight forwarders, shippers, and customs brokers across the region.

You will be responsible for scaling our AI-powered document processing pipeline, ensuring 24/7 system availability for time-sensitive trade operations, and architecting secure integrations with customs systems (TradeNet), ERP platforms, and Freight Management Systems (FMS).

This is a hands-on architectural role where you'll balance strategic technology decisions with tactical implementation guidance, working closely with engineering teams, product managers, and customs compliance experts.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Architecture & Scaling

• Design and evolve the architecture of ADEX
• Design multi-tenant SaaS architecture that ensures data isolation between competing logistics clients while maximizing resource efficiency
• Lead technical roadmap for migrating from monolithic components to distributed, cloud-native services

Integration Architecture

• Design secure, high-throughput API and EDI architectures
• Architect data exchange protocols that ensure integrity of sensitive trade and customs data across disparate systems
• Establish patterns for real-time and batch processing integrations with external logistics and government systems

AI/ML Infrastructure

• Architect data pipelines that support continuous training and improvement of our in-house OCR and document classification models
• Design systems for human-in-the-loop validation workflows, ensuring AI-extracted customs data meets accuracy SLAs
• Implement MLOps practices for model versioning, A/B testing, and deployment in production environments

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure architecture supports customs compliance requirements, audit trails, and data retention policies for trade documentation
• Design security architecture protecting sensitive commercial invoice data, HS codes, and cross-border trade information
• Establish disaster recovery and business continuity strategies for mission-critical customs declaration workflows

Technical Leadership

• Define coding standards, architectural patterns, and technical best practices for the engineering team
• Conduct architecture reviews and provide guidance on complex technical implementations
• Evaluate and select technologies, frameworks, and third-party services (cloud providers, OCR engines, integration platforms)
• Mentor senior engineers and foster architectural thinking across the team

Requirements

Technical Expertise

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in solution/enterprise architecture roles
• Experience designing document processing systems, workflow automation platforms, or logistics/supply chain technology
• Strong background in AI/ML system architecture, OCR, NLP, or computer vision pipelines
• Expertise in cloud-native architecture (AWS/Azure/GCP), microservices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and serverless computing
• Proven experience designing high-throughput API ecosystems and EDI integrations (JSON/XML/EDIFACT)
• Database architecture: SQL/NoSQL design, data modeling for high-volume transactional systems, data pipeline architecture
• Security architecture: IAM, encryption at rest/transit, API security, compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2)

Industry Knowledge (Good to have)

• Experience with trade documentation, customs processes, or logistics technology
• Familiarity with TradeNet, customs declaration systems, or freight forwarding workflows
• Understanding of supply chain data standards (UN/EDIFACT, XML standards for shipping/customs)

Soft Skills

• Strong stakeholder management skills-ability to translate business requirements (customs compliance, operational efficiency) into technical solutions
• Experience working in agile environments with product managers and domain experts (customs brokers, logistics operators)
• Ability to balance technical debt reduction with rapid feature delivery for business-critical operations
