Job Description:
Work in a clean-room Fab facility and Chemical Laboratory environment
Follow the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) to analyze routine samples and report to internal customer
Use analytical techniques and instrumentation such as chromatography, spectroscopy, titration, particle sizing, volume measurement and weight measurement
Perform standard and reagent preparation of samples such as vapor phase deposition (VPD), extraction, digestion and series dilution
Responsible for monitoring and sustaining equipment
Perform preventative maintenance on assigned tools
Collaborate with area Chemists to troubleshoot analytical issues and equipment issues
Participate in Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) activities, including 6S audit, housekeeping, maintaining stock of reagents, standards, spare parts and consumables
Keep the Chemistry Laboratory Manager updated on tool and area issues
Qualifications / Requirements:
Diploma in Chemical Engineering/Applied Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Science, Materials Science, Life or Biomedical Science and/or equivalent experience
Basic knowledge of analytical equipment is preferred, such as Inductively Coupled Plasma/Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS), Inductively Coupled Plasma/Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES)/Titrators/Gas-Liquid Mass Spectroscopy
Basic to intermediate knowledge of analytical techniques
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to troubleshoot basic problems and address root causes
Possess good teamwork skills and strong multi-tasking capability
Accept flexible job responsibilities and take initiative to assume added responsibilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be flexible to work 12 hour shift and rotate day/night shifts as needed
Software skills including Tableau, Excel VBA, Microsoft Automate tools and/or Python will be preferred.
Responsible for monitoring tool performance and scheduling and performing preventative maintenance on your assigned area's equipment. Use mechanical and electronic skills to troubleshoot and repair down equipment. Assist with equipment installs and upgrades and create and modify equipment procedures. Work to increase tool uptime through systematic problem-solving and troubleshooting, quality workmanship, and routine reviews of maintenance checklists and procedures.
