Job Summary
You will survey buildings and repair mechanical, electrical, ventilation, refrigeration, heating, plumbing, and alarm systems to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. You will perform manual repairs, pest control, general upkeep, and assist in budget preparation.
Responsibilities
- Survey buildings to identify mechanical system issues and repair them to meet health and safety standards
- Perform maintenance on electrical systems including replacing light bulbs and sockets, cleaning, and repairing circuit breaker panels
- Assist in setting up and repairing ventilation, refrigeration, and other mechanical systems
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure proper functionality
- Inspect fire and protection alarm systems and schedule repairs as needed
- Perform manual repairs such as fixing locks and replacing windows to maintain building integrity
- Conduct pest control activities including spraying insecticide to manage infestations
- Carry out general upkeep tasks such as landscaping, painting, and carpentry as assigned
- Assist in preparing and monitoring maintenance budgets to ensure adherence
- Apply knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems to support maintenance tasks
- Use tools, appliances, and devices effectively to complete maintenance and repair work
- Demonstrate manual dexterity and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues
- Maintain good physical condition and strength to perform physically demanding tasks and work overtime when required
