Job Description

  • To operate manufacturing equipment to produce and/or package contact lenses.
  • To operate autoclave to sterilize contact lenses.
  • Ensure contact lenses are manufacturing to the best quality level possible.
  • Perform activities in compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices in a controlled and regulated environment.
  • To ensure compliance Data Integrity such that information is attributable, legible, contemporaneous, original and accurate.
  • Perform all production activities at various stages under cleanroom environment and to work as a team with cross-functional team member to achieve production targets in compliance with GMP, quality and safety requirements. Handle production tasks and ensures daily target and highest product quality are achieved

Major Accountabilities

  • To maintain the quality standard of Contact Lens manufacturing.
  • To meet the yield, equipment performance and uptime of the LTs being assigned.
  • To perform IPC (in process check) such as Visual Lens Inspection and Operator Packaging check.
  • To schedule contact lenses to be sterilized within 12 hrs.
  • To perform simple machine setup e.g. Ink change.
  • To support maintenance activities and troubleshoot machine issues.
  • To maintain 5S in the production floor.
  • To participate in Kaizen project for continuous improvement in manufacturing performance.

Note: The following physical activities must also be performed repeatedly throughout the shift:

  • Push rolling carts weighing 300KG.
  • Perform inspection of lenses under increased lighting and magnification.
  • Perform GxP cleaning and production end waste disposal.
  • Transfer magazines between transfer carts (3.05KG per magazine, average 100 to 200 magazine per shift)
  • Support lot change activities, required to squat down, long-standing posture. (Average 4 lot change per shift)
