Job Responsibilities
- Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) for parts produced from new projects, new tooling, transferred tooling, Engineering Change Notice (ECN) tooling, and repaired tooling.
- Perform dimensional and functional measurements using appropriate measuring and testing equipment in accordance with product drawings and specifications.
- Compile and record inspection results in the First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) for customer submission.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve issues related to First Article Inspection activities.
- Develop and maintain Measurement Instructions for new parts and products.
- Support the Quality Control team in the preparation and validation of First Article measurement programs.
- Conduct Annual Layout Inspections in accordance with customer and quality requirements.
- Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of inspection records and reports.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management from time to time.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in First Article Inspection (FAI), preferably within the plastic injection molding or manufacturing industry.
- Able to read, interpret, and understand engineering drawings, with working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Proficient in operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), Vision Measuring Machines (VMM), and various quality inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with quality inspection methodologies, measurement techniques, and reporting requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Possess good analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
