RESPONSIBILITIES

Purpose:

The Engineer shall provide technical support and work in the News Production Support department

The Scope:

The Engineer is expected:

News Production SupportThe Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, installation, and maintenance of news production systems and equipment within the Newsroom and News studios. This role provides Level 1 technical support to newsroom and studio users, performing preventive and corrective maintenance on news production infrastructure. Responsibilities include active monitoring and testing of equipment and systems, documentation of system incidents and behaviours, as well as execution of standard support and maintenance procedures. Additionally, the Engineer will participate in the planning, design, and installation of technical projects related to News operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

• - Degree in Electronic & Electrical Engineering or Information Engineering & Media or Computer Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
• - Hands-on Engineer with interest in broadcast engineering
• - Knowledge in IT and computer network
• - Proficient in written and communication skills
• - A team player who is able to work independently and is prepared to perform shift duties
