Technical Superintendent

Responsibilities

• Ensure vessels comply with Class, Flag State, and Major Oil Company requirements, maintaining all certifications and sea worthiness.
• Plan, monitor, and oversee scheduled maintenance, including Plan Maintenance Scheme (PMS) and vessel worklists.
• Attend to repairs and troubleshoot vessel issues by providing technical expertise and consultancy.
• Plan and supervise drydocking activities, including reviewing requirements, cost estimation, on-site supervision, and performance monitoring.
• Evaluate and recommend store/spare requisitions for approval at various management levels.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on vessel operating costs and performance, including running/drydock costs, bunker, and lub oil consumption.
• Address and verify defects (NCRs), ensuring compliance with Management of Change (MOC), Class, Statutory, and Charterer requirements.
• Lead and coach ship staff and assigned Senior Officers, handle welfare/management issues, conduct briefings and performance appraisals.

Requirements

• Certificate of Competency (Class I) / Chief Engineer (Foreign Going).
• Minimum 2 years experience as Superintendent OR at least 6 months as Chief Engineer on company vessels.
• Minimum 5 years of tanker/LPG/Bulk carrier experience (mandatory for tanker/LPG/Bulk carrier fleets)
• Good people management, negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, resourcefully, and under pressure to meet deadlines.
