Technical Superintendent (Bulk)

Responsibilities

• Ensure assigned bulk carriers comply with all Classification Society, Flag State, and Port State regulations.
• Execute and monitor planned maintenance systems (PMS) for vessel machinery and equipment.
• Approve, coordinate, and supervise repairs prepare technical repair and purchase specifications.
• Plan and oversee dry-docking activities, ensuring quality, timely completion, and cost efficiency.
• Prepare and control annual technical budgets for assigned vessels, reporting and analyzing variances.
• Conduct internal audits, technical risk assessments, and incident investigations, ensuring close-out of all findings.
• Attend and support all vessel inspections, surveys, and audits conducted by external authorities.
• Liaise with the crew department, providing technical input to crew selection, training, and onboard support.

Requirements

• Certificate of Competency (COC) Class 1 with prior Chief Engineer sailing experience on bulk carriers.
• At least 2 years superintendent experience ashore managing bulk carrier fleets.
• Hands-on experience with 2-stroke marine engines (mandatory) MEC engine experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in successful dry-dock planning and supervision (minimum 1-2 projects).
• In-depth knowledge of Class, Flag State, and industry compliance requirements effective communication in English.
