Technical Scrum Master

We are looking for a Technical Scrum Master who bridges business, technology, and end-user experience to help software teams deliver high-quality products effectively.

At The Software Practice, you will work closely with clients, engineers, and designers to facilitate Agile delivery, align business requirements with technical solutions, and guide projects from initial scope through production.

Our ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge, business acumen, and Agile delivery experience. We are particularly interested in candidates with a hands-on software development background, ideally Senior Software Engineers or Developers who have transitioned into Scrum Master, technical leadership, or software delivery roles.

This is a technical, client-facing role suited to someone who understands how software is built and can bring business stakeholders and engineering teams together to deliver successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Agile Delivery & Scrum Facilitation: Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Help teams maintain focus, improve collaboration, and deliver sprint goals.
• Team Enablement: Identify and remove blockers, manage dependencies, and support engineers in resolving delivery challenges. Encourage continuous improvement and effective Agile practices.
• Stakeholder Management: Work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to align expectations, communicate progress, and ensure technical solutions meet business needs.
• Sprint & Delivery Planning: Coordinate sprint goals, delivery milestones, capacity planning, and project timelines to support predictable and efficient delivery.
• Requirements & Documentation: Collaborate with clients, business stakeholders, and engineers to clarify requirements, refine user stories, define acceptance criteria, and maintain project documentation and status reports.
• Technical Collaboration: Leverage your software development background to understand technical discussions, architecture, dependencies, and potential delivery risks, enabling effective communication between business and engineering teams.
• Continuous Improvement: Promote Agile principles, support team development, and identify opportunities to improve delivery processes and product outcomes.
• Business Alignment: Ensure delivery priorities remain aligned with client objectives, product direction, and broader business goals.

Requirements

• Singaporean / Permanent Resident (no visa sponsorship available).
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, including hands-on software development or coding experience.
• A strong software engineering background is highly preferred, particularly candidates who have transitioned from Senior Software Engineer / Developer roles into Scrum Master, Agile delivery, technical project management, or related leadership positions.
• Experience delivering software projects across the full development lifecycle, preferably in Agile environments.
• Practical understanding of Scrum, Agile principles, sprint management, backlog refinement, and iterative software delivery.
• Strong technical understanding of software development practices, architecture, system dependencies, and engineering workflows.
• Experience working directly with clients, business stakeholders, or cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and manage expectations.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, analytical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to guide teams, resolve impediments, and encourage continuous improvement.
• Scrum Master certification (PSM, CSM, or equivalent) is preferred.
• Experience working with Singapore Government clients is an advantage.
