Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate Technical Sales Specialist to advocate Shimadzu's analytical and measuring instruments in Singapore, converting opportunities into sales aligned with company goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities and increase sales volumes with existing and potential customers in the Singapore market
  • Coordinate and manage sales activities including cold-calling, meetings, and presentations to engage customers effectively
  • Demonstrate product features and equipment capabilities to customers to showcase value propositions
  • Provide technical advice and support to customers to ensure quality assurance of products delivered
  • Follow up on customer evaluations and review technical procurement specifications to meet client requirements
  • Respond to customer queries promptly and provide appropriate, tailored solutions
  • Assess client needs and recommend suitable product specifications and solutions while balancing company profit margins and client budgets
  • Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate pricing, scheduling, performance, and technical requirements for sales orders
  • Support delivery and installation processes to ensure customer satisfaction and successful implementation
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management to support business objectives

Preferred Competencies and Qualifications

  • Degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • At least 2 years of successful experience selling analytical instruments in the Singapore market or managing customers from academic, government, or chemical industry sectors
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills demonstrated by effective engagement with laboratory managers, professors, PhD-level scientists, and technicians
  • Experience using established CRM systems to manage customer relationships and sales pipelines
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for training and business meetings
