Role Summary
We are seeking a proactive and technically adept Technical Sales Engineer to drive business growth and manage client relationships in Singapore. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between complex engineering solutions and client needs, selling advanced monitoring systems, dataloggers, and specialized sensors to institutions, government agencies, and private enterprises.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Sales & Revenue: Identify, develop, and close B2B sales opportunities for environmental and infrastructure monitoring solutions.
- Technical Consultation: Act as the primary technical advisor to clients. Recommend appropriate hardware configurations, including weather stations, WBGT monitoring systems, and class 2 sound level meters.
- Solution Design: Work with clients to scope out telemetry requirements and sensor integrations (e.g., utilizing RS232/RS485 Modbus interfaces and compact dataloggers).
- Client Relationship Management: Maintain and expand relationships with existing key accounts while actively prospecting for new business.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with the internal engineering and technical teams to ensure smooth project delivery from the proposal stage through to execution and handover.
- Product Expertise: Maintain an in-depth understanding of the product lines from our key principals (Campbell Scientific, Gill Instruments, Valmet, ECD) to effectively position them in the market.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Computer Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Prior experience in technical sales, instrumentation, or automation is preferred, but not mandatory. Fresh graduates or individuals eager to learn and step into a technical sales role are encouraged to apply.
- Technical Knowledge: . Familiarity with or willingness to learn about dataloggers, telemetry systems, and sensor integration.
- Basic understanding of communication protocols such as RS485 and RS232 Modbus is a plus.
- An understanding of electronics, wiring, and basic programming (e.g., Raspberry Pi or similar microcontrollers) is highly advantageous.
- Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to translate complex technical specifications into clear business value for clients.
- Attributes: Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of managing the full sales cycle independently.
