Job Description

  • Responsible for the operation of SG WTE Plants (Senoko and Tuas) equipment.
  • Uphold a safe operating environment according to procedures and requirements including but not limited to starting, loading, unloading and shutting down the complete plant and systems in compliance with Keppel's policies, and government legislation.
  • Operate the plant in the most efficient manner with sound knowledge of the safe operating parameters, controls, precaution and safety interlocks when starting and loading plant equipment to avoid damages.
  • Able to manage, monitor and control the plant process operation from control room DCS.
  • Carry out isolation/normalization of equipment as required by the Permit-to-Work (PTW) System.
  • Carry out plant change-over and conduct testing of equipment to meet statutory compliance and best industry practices.
  • Communicate with Regulatory and Authority on all operation matters on a timely manner.
  • Record plant operating data and report defects and abnormalities.
  • Response promptly & attend to call for emergencies to minimize operation impacts and enhance reliability.
  • Assist the Operation Engineers to troubleshoot/ fault diagnosis/ failure analysis to determine cause of failure and provide remedy solution.
  • Assist the Operation Engineers to develop Risk Assessment and mitigation measures for every operation job in the plant.
  • Ensure proper maintenance on operation tools and safekeeping.
  • Assist Engineer to plan and implement continual improvement programs.
  • Assist Engineer to implement internal training and OJT programs.
  • Perform inspections for the received spare parts and tools.
  • Successful candidate can be appointed as part of the Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) (training will be provided)
  • Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by supervisor / plant management.
  • To perform the duties with responsibility and to utmost safety in job deliveries.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or NITEC in relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in performing duties equivalent to Process Plant, Power Plant environment or oil & gas industry with knowledge of DCS Operations.
  • Ideally involvement in the technical and maintenance aspects of Steam Turbines.
  • Knowledge and experience of modern Health, Safety and Environmental practices.
  • Able to interpret the P&I diagram.
  • Able to perform shift work.
  • Proficient in basic office computer software.
  • Positive attitude and a good team-player.
  • This is a 2 years contract position.
