About The Role
As a CBRE Technical Engineer, you will be responsible for engineering operations and the direction of technicians, vendors, and subcontractors.
This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
What You'll Do
- Technical Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge of Building General M&E, ACMV systems, and Process Utility Systems (CDA, UPW, PCW, PVAC, Scrubber, etc.) to ensure smooth operation and maintenance.
- Team Management: Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of shift leads and technicians, overseeing their work to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.
- System Oversight: Oversee the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building systems to ensure reliability, minimize downtime, and comply with industry regulations.
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop, implement, and oversee preventive maintenance programs for building systems and equipment to extend their lifespan and improve operational efficiency.
- Emergency Response: Quickly respond to emergency situations, coordinating with teams to implement corrective actions and minimize business interruptions.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, safety regulations, governmental directives, and company policies related to building operations and work safety.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of equipment, maintenance activities, safety checks, and compliance documentation.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments and clients to schedule preventive maintenance, minimize business interruptions, and ensure that systems and services meet customer needs.
- Work Oversight: Oversee the work of engineering staff and subcontractors, inspecting completed tasks to ensure proper functionality and compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
- Training & Development: Provide technical and procedural training to team members, coaching and sharing knowledge to foster team growth and development.
- Client Interaction: Consult with clients to address their technical concerns, propose innovative solutions, and schedule necessary maintenance activities to minimize inconvenience.
- Leadership: Lead by example, aligning with company values (CBRE RISE) and fostering a culture of collaboration, safety, and excellence within the team.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in building maintenance or facility management, particularly with M&E and Process Utility Systems.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Proven experience in team management and leadership.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex technical issues.
- Strong communication skills to explain difficult or sensitive information clearly and effectively.
- Ability to work within broad guidelines, policies, and deadlines.
- Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
