Technical Manager (AV & Cinema Operations)

Job Purpose

You will lead the technical team in delivering world-class cinema screenings and live event experiences. As a Manager, you are responsible for the entire technical lifecycle-from digital content management (DCP/KDM) to staff supervision and high-level troubleshooting of projection and AV systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Leadership & Staff Management

• Supervise technical and projection staff, including roster planning and performance management.

• Foster a culture of workplace discipline, safety, and excellence.

• Lead training initiatives for junior staff and temporary crews.

2. Content & Systems Management

• Oversee digital content ingest, playlist creation, and scheduling via Cinema Servers (DCP, TMS/LMS).

• Manage the delivery and keys (KDMs) for film packages to ensure zero downtime for screenings.

• Ensure precise programming of trailers, advertisements, and features.

3. Advanced Technical Support & Events

• Lead the technical setup for VR, live, and hybrid events, including signal routing and AVL configuration.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and senior management to coordinate complex event requirements.

• Perform high-level troubleshooting and coordinate with external vendors for major equipment repairs.

4. Maintenance, Safety & Standards

• Manage maintenance plans, equipment calibration, and technical inventories.

• Enforce strict compliance with safety protocols and emergency procedures.

• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and operational logs.

Requirements

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Film Technology, Electronics, AV Engineering, IT, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in cinema projection operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
