Job Description

A leading consultancy is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Electrical Technical Lead to oversee and review systems designs for large‑scale data center projects. Based in Singapore, this role is heavily focused on technical governance, design assurance, and ensuring engineering deliverables meet project, regulatory, and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical authority for mechanical/electrical systems across major data center projects.
  • Review and validate system designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications prepared by consultants and contractors.
  • Ensure that mechanical/electrical system designs align with project requirements, performance criteria, and compliance obligations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external engineering teams to resolve design gaps, technical issues, and integration challenges.
  • Oversee multi-disciplinary design documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with design milestones.
  • Review Revit models, design submissions, and technical reports for constructability, safety, and operational suitability.
  • Provide technical guidance during design, construction, testing, and commissioning stages.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, technical submissions, and equipment selections for engineering compliance.
  • Develop and maintain design standards, best practices, and quality processes for mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Identify risks, deviations, and potential design conflicts early, driving resolution across stakeholders.
  • Support project managers with technical inputs for schedules, budgets, procurement, and commissioning plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong background in reviewing mechanical/electrical system designs for large, complex infrastructure projects (data center experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of electrical/mechanical design, commissioning, and operations.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and design review processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple vendors and complex cross-functional programmes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in developing proprietary standards or working in fast-paced product development environments is a plus.
