Job Description

Primary Objectives of Position

  • Support the consultancy deliverables to ensure they meet customer expectations for Light Rail Transit.

Major Responsibilities

Review and evaluate document submissions from the system contractor and provide timely, detailed, and constructive commentary regarding:

  • Overall design compliance with project requirements which includes but not limited to detailed design, construction, installation, Testing and Commissioning, Off Site Integration Tests and Factory Acceptances Test of the systems
  • Operability, maintainability, and constructability of the system
  • Incorporation of best practices from relevant projects
  • Reviews to be completed within specified schedule and in full conformance with contractual requirements

Review the contractor's submissions focusing on the following areas:

  • Proposed System Design:

1) Overall System design, configuration, layout, capacity, service-proven technology, scalability, and compliance with technical requirements

2) Subsystem design including vehicles, guideways, power, communications, and signalling and compliance with technical requirements

3) Security architecture, cybersecurity strategy and architecture, alignment with regulatory codes

4)Comprehensiveness of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) documents, hazard logs, test plans, procedures, acceptance criteria, and demonstration of system readiness for final acceptance,

5)Design interfaces reviews between subsystems (guideway, vehicle, power, signalling, Platform Screen Door (PSD), communications, control systems) to ensure integration details are documented and aligned

  • Operations & Maintenance (O&M):

1) Maintainability and operability of the equipment and systems, lifecycle planning, effectiveness of support systems, and technology for O&M optimization.

2) Supplier's maintenance plan and spares management (including list of spares and inventory)

  • Review the system design for single points of failure or vulnerabilities across all engineering systems that could potentially disrupt services across the entire Skytrain system. This includes on-site studies to perform this review where applicable.
  • Provide recommendations to enhance the overall system resiliency. These may include design, operational and or maintenance enhancements.
  • Participate in meetings and discussion with the Contractor or client's project team and ensure follow up to closure of all arising action items.
  • Support all project deliverables with inputs on system design where required. This includes inputs on feasibility studies, on-site studies, or recommendations on how design constraints can affect Operations & Maintenance (O&M).

Job Specifications:

Minimum Education / Qualifications

  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience

  • Preferably at least 5 years of railway experience for degree holder and have prior experience working on engineering or maintenance of Light Rail Transit

Knowledge/Skills

  • Strong people, planning and organizing skills.
  • Good communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
