[What the role is]
We are seeking a dedicated Technical Executive (Pharmaceutical Laboratory) to support the operational needs of the Secondary Pharmaceutical Technology Centre (SPTC) and Pharmaceutical Development & Analytical Lab (PDA) laboratories. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth daily operations, equipment readiness and compliance with safety and facility standards.
[What you will be working on]
- Support practical preparations for SPTC and PDA labs, ensuring equipment, materials, and facilities are ready for lessons, workshops, and student projects.
- Manage renewal of preventive maintenance (PM) contracts and coordinate calibration, servicing, and repairs of pilot-scale and analytical equipment.
- Maintain Building Management Systems (BMS) including Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC), chillers, heaters, and exhaust; coordinate vendor servicing and contract renewals.
- Oversee critical utilities such as compressed air and gas alarm systems, and manage facility components including auto doors, emergency systems, and card access.
- Initiate procurement processes and handle procurement documentation, quotations, invoices, e-sourcing submissions, and contract renewal records.
- Assist with Workplace, Safety and Health (WSH) matters, risk assessments, incident reporting, asset audits, and controlled item audits.
- Maintain equipment manuals, validation documents, calibration certificates, and technical records in an organised and accessible system.
- Conduct routine housekeeping, environmental monitoring and checks to ensure laboratory compliance with safety, cleanliness, and quality standards.
- Ensure proper waste management processes including chemical waste collection, disposal coordination, and record maintenance.
[What we are looking for]
- Diploma in Engineering, Applied Science, or relevant technical fields.
- Experience in pharmaceutical laboratory, pilot plant, or facility operations is an advantage.
- Good coordination, critical thinking skills, and safety-minded.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced teaching environment with multiple concurrent activities.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and sense of responsibility.
- Proficient in IT (Microsoft Office).
