[What the role is]
We are seeking a dedicated Technical Executive (Food Laboratory) to support the operational needs of the food science laboratories and teaching kitchens. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth daily operations, equipment readiness, and adherence to food safety, hygiene, and laboratory safety standards to support teaching, research, and industry-related activities.
[What you will be working on]
- Support practical preparations for food laboratories and teaching kitchens, including the setup of ingredients, materials, equipment, and tools for lessons and projects.
- Assist lecturers and students during kitchen-based practical sessions, including food preparation, processing activities, sanitation, and post-class clean-up.
- Operate, clean, troubleshoot, and maintain food processing and kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, blenders, dehydrators, packaging systems, homogenisers, retort systems, chillers, and analytical instruments.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance (PM), calibration, and repair works with vendors to ensure equipment readiness for teaching labs, practical sessions, student projects, and industry-linked trials.
- Ensure all laboratory and kitchen areas comply with food hygiene, workplace safety, chemical handling, biosafety, and waste management standards.
- Conduct routine checks on safety, hygiene, PPE, equipment, and facilities support risk assessments and safe work procedures.
- Manage inventory of chemicals, food ingredients, consumables, packaging materials, and kitchen supplies support procurement processes including sourcing, quotations, purchase requests and tracking deliveries.
- Maintain documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), lesson preparation records, equipment logs, technical manuals, validation files, and project-related records.
- Initiate procurement processes and handle procurement documentation, quotations, invoices, e-sourcing submissions, and contract renewal records.

[What we are looking for]
- Diploma in Food Science & Technology, Culinary & Catering Management, Applied Science, or related fields.
- Experience working in a food processing laboratory, pilot plant, or kitchen environment is an advantage.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced teaching environment with multiple concurrent activities.
- Good coordination, critical thinking skills, and safety-minded.
- Proficient in IT (Microsoft Office).
