Job Description

Role: Technical Engineer

Reports to the Technical Manager responsible for supporting technical aspects of a project, and developing, coordinating, and managing models to ensure accuracy, constructability, and alignment with requirements.

Key Responsibilities

-Develop design proposals, technical drawings, and detailed documentation aligned with project requirements

-Produce tender technical logistics and sequence plans, plus VE visuals, working with the Technical Manager as part of the technical team

-Ensure detailing complies with regulations and standards, and verify all designs and details before submission to the client or authorities

-Recommend corrective actions and VE improvements when deviations from scope, schedule, or quality arise

-Participate in design coordination meetings and provide technical input on constructability and technical-related issues

-Perform routine site checks to ensure construction aligns with approved designs, contract specs, safety rules, and quality

-Provide technical support to engineers, coordinators, and site teams

-Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to ensure all drawings, comply with project specifications, relevant codes / standards, and client requirements

-Prepare topographical maps for civil works; produce survey setting-out plans, longitudinal sections and cross-sections for submission; and develop engineering plans with sectional details

-Prepare precise architectural, structural, electrical and mechanical survey plans, shop/as-built sets, and detailed drawings with AutoCAD or similar tools

-Revise drawings as required, based on project requirements, site conditions, or feedback from the project team, clients and consultants

-Create, update, and interpret architectural drawings to support timely construction

-Oversee accurate documentation and version control for models and drawings, and extract 2D drawings, schedules, and quantities from the models

-Assist in conducting clash detection, model reviews, and design validation exercises

Qualifications

Education

Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field. Professional certifications (Engineering) is an advantage

Experience

+3-5 years of experience in Civil & Structural works, preferably with main contractors is an advantage

Core Competencies

AutoCAD, Revit and other relevant drafting software or tools. Knowledge of BIM related execution plans,standards, and coordination processes

Regulatory Compliance

Knowledge of regulatory compliance (codes and standards (BCA, SCDF, LTA, PUB, URA requirements), ISO/ bizSAFE / GGBS

Analytical Skills

Commercial VE acumen, cost awareness, attention driven with strong critical thinking skills, and disciplined systems control (documents and data tracking)

Interpersonal

Strong communicator, conflict resolution and stakeholder management
