(A)Job Summary:
The Technical Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and coordination for construction activities. The role ensures that works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, authority requirements, and project standards. The Technical Engineer serves as a key link between the design team and the site construction team to resolve technical issues efficiently.
(B)Essential Job Functions:
The Technical Engineer is responsible, but not limited to, the following:
1. Technical Coordination
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Coordinate with consultants and subcontractors on technical clarifications and design issues.
- Identify discrepancies, clashes, or constructability issues and propose solutions.
2. Design & Submission Management
- Prepare and review shop drawings, method statements, material submissions, and technical proposals.
- Submit technical documents to consultants and authorities for approval.
- Track submission status and ensure timely approval to avoid delays.
3. Site Technical Support
- Provide technical guidance to site engineers and supervisors during construction.
- Resolve site technical problems related to civil, structural, or architectural works.
- Coordinate design changes and ensure updated drawings are distributed to relevant teams.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain proper records of technical submissions, RFIs, and drawing revisions.
- Assist in preparing progress reports and technical documentation.
- Support as-built drawing preparation and project handover documentation.
5. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and QA/QC requirements.
- Participate in inspections and technical meetings.
- Any ad-hoc duties as per assigned by Construction Manager / Project Manager / Project Director.
(C)Minimum Qualifications/ Job Experience:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 3-8 years experience in civil or infrastructure tender preparation.
- Knowledge of construction methodology, materials, and costing.
