We are seeking an experienced Technical Leader to lead cutting-edge photonics technologies, drive strategy, product realization, and manufacturing excellence for photonics in Thailand. This role will drive the transition from advanced R&D into scalable, high-quality global manufacturing while aligning technology roadmaps with business objectives.
The Technical Leader will work cross-functionally across R&D, product engineering, operations, supply chain, and global manufacturing partners to influence global manufacturing strategy at a senior level.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the global technical roadmap for photonics products, aligned with business and market needs.
- Provide senior technical leadership across optics, photonics, electronics, packaging, and systems integration.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes for strategic advantage.
- Lead the industrialization of photonics products, from prototype through high-volume manufacturing.
- Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), and Design for Reliability (DFR) practices.
- Partner with global manufacturing sites, contract manufacturers, and suppliers to ensure yield, quality, cost, and scalability.
- Support customer engagements on technical topics, including roadmap discussions and manufacturing readiness.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD preferred) in Photonics, Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in photonics or related high-tech industries, including manufacturing scale-up. Experience working with high-volume or high-reliability manufacturing environments.
- Proven leadership experience in global, cross-functional technical teams.
- Strong understanding of photonic device design, optical systems, and manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience with lasers, optical components, integrated photonics, or optoelectronic systems.
- Experience managing external manufacturing partners or contract manufacturers.
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate technology into market value.
