Are you a technically fluent architectural professional who takes ownership of your work and wants to see it built We are looking for a driven and dependable Technical Coordinator to join our lean, ambitious team - someone ready to grow with a practice that is building something worth being part of.
About Us
Taler Studio + Architects is a Singapore-based boutique practice at an exciting stage of growth. We work across experience design, residential, conservation, commercial mixed-use, and retail projects. Our founding directors bring over two decades of award-winning experience - and we are now building the core team that will grow with us. We are small by intention: every person here has real ownership over their work, real exposure to clients and consultants, and a real stake in the practice's future.
Why This Role Exists
As we take on more projects, we need a technically strong coordinator who can own the documentation side of our work - producing submission-ready drawing sets, keeping cross-discipline coordination tight, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks between design intent and built reality. This is not a role where you push drawings in the background. You will be a visible, valued part of how our projects get delivered.
The Role
This is a full-time hybrid Technical Coordinator position based in Singapore. You will work both independently - managing your own drawing sets from design development through to detailed and tender packages - and in close support of the Principal Architect on more complex deliverables. You will own the authority submission process across both the current CORENET 2.0 platform and the new CORENET X / RABW workflow, ensure design compliance against building codes before lodgement, coordinate across consultants, and help us build stronger internal documentation systems as the practice scales.
What You'll Do
- Drawing production: Prepare and manage comprehensive architectural drawing sets across all project stages - from design development through to detailed and tender drawing packages, ensuring sets are complete, coordinated, and construction-ready
- Code compliance checking: Assist in reviewing and checking design proposals against relevant Singapore building codes, BCA and URA regulations, and authority requirements - identifying compliance issues early so that designs are submission-ready before lodgement
- Authority submissions - CORENET 2.0: Prepare, compile, and lodge authority submission packages via the current CORENET 2.0 platform, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and meets prevailing agency requirements
- Authority submissions - CORENET X / RABW: Prepare for and execute submissions under the new CORENET X platform and its Regulatory Approval of Building Works (RABW) workflow - the 3-Gateway sequential process (Design, Construction, Completion) that consolidates agency review into a single coordinated BIM submission in IFC-SG (openBIM) format
- Consultant coordination: Coordinate technical drawings with structural, M&E, and specialist consultants to ensure cross-discipline consistency and accuracy throughout all project phases
- Independent and collaborative work: Work independently on your own drawing sets while supporting the Principal Architect on more complex deliverables - capable of managing both in parallel
- Site supervision support: Assist with site supervision - verifying that works on site align with approved drawings and specifications, and flagging discrepancies promptly
- Document control: Maintain drawing registers, revision schedules, submission records, and correspondence logs with rigour and consistency across all active projects
- Standards & workflows: Contribute to the continuous improvement of drawing standards, submission templates, and BIM workflows as the practice grows
What Makes This Role Different
- You are an early hire, not a number: Joining at this stage means your contributions shape how the practice develops - including its culture, standards, and reputation.
- Real ownership from day one: You will manage your own drawing sets and see your technical work translate directly into built projects, from conservation shophouses to new residential and commercial developments.
- A growth path with the practice: As the team and project pipeline expand, so does your role. We are building a team of long-term collaborators, not a revolving door.
- A team that values craft: We care about the quality of every drawing set. If you take pride in precise, well-coordinated documentation, you will feel at home here.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Architecture, Design, or a related field from a recognised Polytechnic or equivalent
- 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in architectural technical drawing production, documentation, and authority submissions
Submissions & Compliance
- Hands-on experience preparing and lodging authority submission packages via CORENET 2.0 working understanding of - or demonstrated readiness to adopt - the new CORENET X platform and its RABW (Regulatory Approval of Building Works) 3-Gateway workflow, including the shift to coordinated BIM submissions in IFC-SG format
- Ability to review design drawings proactively against Singapore building codes, BCA and URA regulations - catching compliance gaps before they become submission issues
- Experience preparing detailed drawing packages and tender documentation for construction procurement
Software
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD working knowledge of Revit and BIM workflows
- Proficiency in SketchUp for 3D visualisation and design communication
- Working knowledge of Adobe Suite for presentation and documentation purposes
Coordination & Personal Qualities
- Experience coordinating with structural, M&E, and specialist consultants across multiple project stages
- Exposure to site supervision and construction administration
- Meticulous attention to detail - you check your work, and then check it again
- Ability to manage multiple drawing sets and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality
- Clear, professional communication skills - written and verbal
Who You Are
You are a technically experienced and self-motivated architectural professional with a strong foundation in documentation and submissions. You understand that a well-prepared drawing set is not just a deliverable - it is the difference between a smooth approval and a frustrating one, between a build that goes to plan and one that does not. You are at a career stage where you want more ownership, more breadth, and more investment in the work you do - not just more years doing the same thing. You are diligent, organised, and you do not cut corners. You want to be part of something that is growing, and you are ready to grow with it.
A Note on Compensation & Culture
As a growing practice, we are transparent about the fact that our compensation is competitive for a boutique firm at our stage - not the highest in the market, but fair, and structured to reward those who grow with us. Early team members benefit from the practice's success as it scales. If you are motivated primarily by immediate earning potential alone, this may not be the right fit. If you are motivated by meaningful work, craft, ownership, and a genuine role in shaping a young practice, we would very much like to hear from you.
Singaporeans and Singapore PRs are preferred for this role.
If you are ready to bring your technical expertise to a practice that genuinely values it - and to grow alongside it - we would love to hear from you.
