Technical Architect (Platform Architect)

As a Technical Architect (Platform Architect), you will own the design, governance, and technical integrity of enterprise data platforms that underpin critical Singapore Government digital services. This role focuses on secure, scalable, and compliant cloud and hybrid data platforms, bridging architectural intent with hands-on engineering execution. You will provide deep technical leadership across platform design, build, migration, and optimisation initiatives, ensuring alignment with government accreditation and regulatory requirements.

What will you do

Platform Architecture & Design

• Design and govern enterprise data platform architectures, covering cloud infrastructure, data services, security, and integration layers.

• Define platform standards, reference architectures, and reusable components aligned to government accreditation needs.

• Ensure architectural consistency and long-term sustainability across multiple agency platforms.

Security, Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with IM8 and other government security standards, including system hardening, access control, encryption, and audit requirements.

• Review and approve platform designs to ensure security-by-design and compliance-by-default principles.

• Partner with security and governance teams to address risk, audit findings, and accreditation requirements.

Technical Leadership & Delivery

• Provide deep technical leadership on platform build, migration, and optimisation initiatives across cloud and hybrid environments.

• Review and approve low-level designs, configurations, and technical implementations.

• Guide engineering teams on best practices for reliability, performance, scalability, and cost optimisation.

• Act as a trusted technical authority, resolving complex platform and infrastructure challenges.

Architecture-to-Execution Bridge

• Translate high-level architecture into actionable technical guidance for engineering teams.

• Support hands-on troubleshooting, performance tuning, and platform stabilisation when required.

• Mentor engineers and uplift platform engineering capability across teams

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Experience: 812+ years in platform architecture, infrastructure engineering, or data engineering roles.

• Cloud & Data Platforms: Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure, and modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Hadoop ecosystems.

• Regulated Environments: Experience working in government or highly regulated environments is strongly preferred.

• Technical Depth: Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, IAM, data services, and enterprise integration patterns.

• Leadership: Proven ability to bridge architecture intent with real-world engineering execution.
