Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coach a team of manufacturing engineers to support daily operations in programming, tooling, process routing, and secondary processes (honing, blasting, coating, and torque-up).
- Lead and guide the team in completing Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC) projects to improve manufacturing processes.
- Monitor production performance to ensure monthly efficiency targets and optimal utilization of machinists and machines are achieved.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for any non-conforming jobs and resolve issues collaboratively as a team.
- Actively explore new manufacturing approaches, tooling, and technologies to enhance organizational capabilities; lead and manage CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) initiatives for required equipment purchases.
- Actively participate in and contribute to HSE initiatives, including hazard/incident identification, risk assessment, and determination of control measures.
- Understand the limitations of in-house machining and prepare detailed subcontracting scopes with marked-up drawings.
- Maintain and update the 2D CAD plant layout as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned from time to time, such as item code creation and preparation of technical reports.
Requirements:
- Strong experience and in-depth knowledge in precision machining.
- Hands-on experience in advanced machining (multi-axis) and secondary operations (coating, torque- up).
- Experience in creating manufacturing routings using an ERP system.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in CAD (2D/3D) software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.
- Experience using ERP systems.
- Highly independent in managing assigned tasks, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead a team, assign tasks effectively, and resolve daily production and engineering issues.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to demonstrate machining setup and operate machines when necessary, especially during First Article (FA) qualification.
- Basic product knowledge and understanding of applications.
- Knowledge of 5CT / API specifications.
- Minimum of a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Precision Engineering, or equivalent
- Relevant product and application knowledge in machining.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant working experience
