The school now has an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant (Elementary) to join our Student Support Department

About the Role:

The role of the Teacher Assistant is essentially to assist the Intervention Specialist and Special Education Teacher in the delivery of the education program within the classroom and support the activities within and outside the classroom to ensure students are safe, happy and learning in a positive and nurturing environment.

  • Support delivery of academic and behavioral strategies with students
  • Help students practice skills and build independence throughout the day
  • Collect and share observations/data as directed
  • Follow plans and feedback from teachers and specialists
  • Communicate professionally and collaborate with staff

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children who require individualized support.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and professional collaboration skills
  • Must demonstrate flexibility, strong work habits, and a positive attitude
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent command of the English language
  • Proficiency in using computers and other forms of technology
  • Strong references and attendance record

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with students requiring additional support in an inclusive school setting.
  • Relevant educational certificate/diploma preferred.
