As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing support to the teacher by helping prepare materials, supervising classroom activities, and assisting students in their daily learning. This is an ideal role for someone eager to work in a collaborative, student-centered environment and gain hands-on experience in education.
What You'll Do:
- Assist teachers with daily classroom activities, including lesson preparation, material setup, and classroom organization.
- Provide individual or small group support to students, including those with additional needs.
- Support classroom management by helping to maintain a structured, safe, and positive learning environment.
- Supervise students during class activities, transitions, and break times to ensure safety and engagement.
- Provide support during summer holiday camps and assist with routine administrative tasks, including attendance tracking and the management of learning materials.
- Provide in-class relief or accompany students on school outings, offering care and supervision.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and therapists to support students academic and developmental goals.
- Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as directed by school leadership.
- Job Requirement
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in education or related field (preferred)
- Relevant working experience with students with challenges and learning difficulties is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse and multicultural environment.
- Knowledge & skills to manage behavior through appropriate behavior intervention strategies.
