Teaching Assistant (Contract)

International School at Bukit Timah
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Duration: ASAP - March / June 2026
Salary:$110 - $125 per day

Key Responsibilities

Student Support

• Support groups of students under the direction of the classroom or specialist teacher.

• Conduct guided reading sessions based on teacher-defined learning objectives.

• Lead small-group activities during learning rotations or stations.

• Supervise educational games and structured/free play in Early Years and Primary settings.

• Provide targeted support to individual students with additional needs, including working towards IEP goals.

• Assist students in understanding instructions, developing study skills, and applying behaviour management strategies.

• Accompany and supervise students during transitions between lessons.

Teacher Support

• Prepare lesson materials and resources (e.g. laminating, photocopying, setting up activities).

• Assist with classroom organisation, displays, and learning environment setup.

• Support classroom setup before term commencement and packing up at the end of the academic year.

• Share joint responsibility with teachers for students educational progress and wellbeing.

• Participate in IEP meetings and reviews with teachers, parents, school leadership, and relevant professionals.

Pastoral Care & Supervision

• Support the pastoral life of the school and promote students wellbeing.

• Assist with students physical needs while encouraging independence (e.g. PE, water play).

• Accompany students to the medical room and inform teachers of any incidents.

• Perform break, lunch, and bus duties according to duty rosters.

• Support teachers and students during school outings and activities.

Assessment & Reporting

• Provide feedback to teachers on students learning and progress based on observations.

• Assist in uploading photos, videos, and learning updates to the school communication platform.

• Share positive and timely feedback on student achievements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Counselling, Special Education, or related disciplines.
