UWCSEA East is looking for a Teacher of High School Business Management and Economics [Part-Time] from August 2026.
The appointee will part of the team who deliver our bespoke UWCSEA Economics courses in Grades 9 and 10 and there may be an opportunity to teach IBDP Business Management and Economics in Grade 11 and 12 as well.
Main Responsibilities
- Contribute positively to the collaborative culture of the Business and Economics departments and to the broader High School teams.
- Construct learning experiences that challenge students, support the diversity of learners in each classroom, and demonstrate a strong commitment to concept-based teaching and learning.
- Ensure assessments support ongoing learning and provide timely, relevant and appropriate feedback to students on formative and summative assessments.
- Demonstrate effective classroom management that shows an understanding of the academic, social and emotional dimensions of learning.
- Keep parents informed about the learning of their children, and be proactive in communication with parents.

- A degree and a teaching qualification is a prerequisite. Experience or interest in curriculum development is advantageous.
- Experience in teaching Business and Economics related courses to 14-16 year olds.
- Experience in teaching IBDP Business Management and Economics.
- An ability to engage with students and engender enthusiasm for learning.
- A willingness and eagerness to participate in the five key elements of a UWCSEA education: Academic Personal & Social Education Service Activities Outdoor Education.
- Enthusiastic participation in Professional Development, both that which is mandated by the College and that which is identified by the teacher.
- Open to the opportunity to lead a mentor group in the High School-Grades 9-12.
- An average yearly contribution of two sessions per week in each season to Activities and/or Service for full time staff. For a part-time role this expectation would be adjusted to be in keeping with part time staff's working hours.
- Enthusiastic participation in the curricular Outdoor Education experiences which are relevant to High School students and a willingness to occasionally volunteer Outdoor Education trips scheduled in holidays.
