Job Summary
Manage and supervise Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) tunneling operations to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective project delivery while coordinating multidisciplinary teams and resolving technical challenges.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily TBM tunneling operations to achieve project milestones within safety, schedule, and budget requirements
- Coordinate and direct TBM crews, engineers, and subcontractors to optimize operational efficiency and collaboration
- Monitor TBM performance metrics, alignment accuracy, and segment installation quality to maintain construction standards
- Diagnose and resolve technical and geological challenges encountered during tunneling to minimize downtime and risks
- Prepare detailed progress reports and communicate project status effectively with management and clients
- Enforce strict adherence to site safety protocols and quality standards to ensure compliance and protect personnel
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 4-10+ years of experience in tunneling or underground construction
- Strong expertise in TBM operations and tunnel construction methodologies
- Proven experience managing site teams and construction activities
- Knowledge of safety regulations and construction management systems
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills applied in construction project environments
