The tax team works hand-in-hand with leaders across the company to ensure smooth, disciplined execution of strategic business objectives. Our Tax & Reporting team builds scalable and well-controlled processes to support timely and accurate financial, statutory reporting, and ensure compliance with regional and local tax regulations.

About the Role

This is an amazing opportunity to join our growing APAC Regional Tax team. We are based in Sydney and Singapore and have responsibility for all tax aspects of Company's business. Your role involves managing tax audits and compliance, review of new structures / lines of business, developing and aligning tax strategies within the Tax Org, etc. across Australia and New Zealand and/or North Asia region. What you'll do:

The Tax Analyst will work closely with the APAC Tax team and other members of the tax and finance departments to manage indirect direct tax advisory, data reporting compliance, tax audits and litigation workstreams in the Australia, New Zealand and/or North Asia region.

The right candidate would be expected to identify and research various direct tax issues and clearly articulate his/her findings to management through verbal / written communication (i.e. memorandums, PowerPoint, etc.) and verbal presentations. Additionally, he/she will uphold a strong working partnership with internal departments and external tax advisors and tax authorities.

Responsibilities:

  • You will work on indirect tax initiatives relating to Australia, New Zealand and/or North Asia.
  • Supporting the cross-functional team that advises on new products and services in Australia, New Zealand and/or North Asia.
  • Assist with review of indirect tax returns.
  • Assist with and support special tax advisory projects and challenging tax matters (e.g. audits).

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience in corporate, Big 4, and/or Law firms, preferably in the APAC region. A combination of consulting and industry experience is a plus.
  • A certified public accountant (CPA) or chartered accountant or Lawyer
  • Strong foundation of indirect tax knowledge and skills.
  • Experience with preparation and review of indirect tax returns.
  • Exposure to corporate tax, APAC/international tax matters preferred but not essential
  • Self motivated, detail oriented, strong organisation, analytical, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure and within set deadlines
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented, rapidly changing, and high-growth organisation.
