Systems/DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

We are hiring a Senior Systems / DevOps Engineer to own and operate production infrastructure across servers, platforms, and supporting network components. This role is hands-on, operations-focused, and requires broad technical competence rather than narrow specialization.

You will design new systems, maintain existing ones, and ensure infrastructure remains stable, secure, and recoverable.

Core Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain production infrastructure (Linux, Windows, and related platforms)

• Design and deploy new systems and environments

• Plan and execute:

  • OS patch management

  • Maintenance windows and controlled reboots

  • Upgrade and rollback strategies

• Perform incident response, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis

• Automate operational tasks and deployments

• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines

• Ensure monitoring, logging, and backup systems are implemented and tested

• Handle basic network operations:

  • Firewalls, switches, and connectivity troubleshooting (small-scale)

Mandatory Technical Requirements

Infrastructure & Systems

• Strong experience managing production systems (Linux and/or Windows)

• Understanding of patch lifecycles, maintenance timelines, and change control

• Ability to design systems with reliability and recovery in mind

DevOps & Automation

• CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)

• Automation using Ansible, SaltStack, PowerShell, or equivalent

• Containerization experience (Docker Kubernetes basic understanding is sufficient)

Networking (Working Knowledge)

• Basic understanding of:

  • Firewalls and security rules

  • Switching and VLAN concepts

  • Network troubleshooting at small to medium scale

What This Role Is NOT

• Not a cloud-only DevOps role

• Not a network engineer role

• Not a junior or learning position

• Not a ticket-only operations job

If your experience is limited to pipelines or cloud services without infrastructure ownership, this role is not a fit.

Experience Requirements

• 5+ years in systems, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering

• Strong preference for 6-8 years

• Proven responsibility for live production environments

Nice to Have

• Hybrid on-prem and cloud environments

• Security hardening and compliance exposure

• Experience working in lean teams with real ownership
