Job Description

Role Description This full-time remote role combines responsibilities of Systems Analyst, Software Tester, and QA Analyst to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of Beacon Excellence's digital platforms and tools. The individual will analyze system requirements, document specifications, and collaborate with stakeholders to understand functional and non-functional needs. Day-to-day tasks include designing test plans and test cases, executing manual and automated tests, identifying defects, and verifying fixes to maintain high software quality. The role involves setting up test environments, monitoring system performance, and contributing to continuous improvement of QA processes and documentation. The analyst will work closely with development, product, and operations teams to support timely releases and a smooth user experience for students and staff.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Software Quality and Software Quality Assurance, with experience applying best practices to educational or web-based systems.
Demonstrated Quality Assurance and Test Management skills, including creating test strategies, managing test cycles, and tracking defects.
Robust Analytical Skills for interpreting requirements, diagnosing issues, and translating business needs into clear technical and testing specifications.
Experience with manual and automated testing tools, test case management systems, and defect tracking platforms (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, or similar).
Knowledge of SDLC and QA methodologies, including regression, functional, integration, and user acceptance testing.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with online learning platforms or educational technology systems is an advantage.
