System Engineer Red Hat Linux / Cloud Infrastructure

JOB TYPE:

30 Months Renewable contract

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with the System Infrastructure team to support and maintain the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system.
• Responsible for the operations, support, maintenance, research and development of AFC system infrastructure to ensure continual improvement and innovation.
• Perform effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of system hardware, operating systems, software and related infrastructure.
• Manage and support infrastructure across on-premise environments and Government on Commercial Cloud (GCC).
• Participate in technical research and development activities to support continuous infrastructure innovation.
• Ensure system hardware, operating systems, software and related procedures comply with organizational standards and requirements.
• Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, incident resolution and preventive maintenance.
• Support infrastructure upgrades, deployments, configuration changes and system improvements.
• Collaborate with internal technical teams and stakeholders to ensure system availability, stability and performance.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, system configurations and operational procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Data Communications or a related field. Diploma holders with relevant experience and expertise will also be considered.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in System Administration / System Engineering.
• System Engineer certification in Red Hat Linux and/or Microsoft, including Cloud technologies, is preferred.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Red Hat Linux administration and scripting.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of on-premise infrastructure and cloud environments.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team..
