About the Role
We are looking for a Systems Engineer to support and debug production issues in our Transaction (TXN) / POS vertical. This role sits within the Vertical Applications and Hardware Payments ecosystem, supporting in-store applications, payment devices, cashflow systems, and system accounts. You will work closely with local APAC stakeholders, local carriers and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot POS, FSI, and transaction-related production issues. Strong Japanese communication skills (written & verbal) are mandatory. This is a hands-on production support + debugging role (L1L3), requiring solid technical depth and the ability to understand complex system integrations.
Responsibilities
- Debug and resolve production issues related to:
- POS systems
- Transaction (TXN) services
- FSI (Financial Services Integration)
- In-store vertical applications
- Hardware vertical (payment devices, cashflows, system accounts)
- Perform log analysis and root cause analysis using tools like Splunk
- Troubleshoot API integrations with local carriers (e.g., iPhone activation flows)
- Work with dependent platform teams to resolve upstream/downstream issues
- Provide L1 / L2 / L3 production support and incident management
- Communicate effectively with Japanese-speaking stakeholders (email, tickets, calls, war rooms)
- Collaborate with APAC teams in Singapore and India
- Create technical documentation and runbooks
- Contribute to automation initiatives:
- Identify repetitive operational tasks
- Propose or build simple agents/tools to improve support efficiency
- Help integrate automation into daily operations
