Job Title: Sybase PostgreSQL DBA

We are looking for an experienced Sybase/PostgreSQL DBA to manage and support enterprise database environments. The candidate will be responsible for database administration, production support, performance tuning, troubleshooting, backup and recovery, and ensuring database availability and reliability.

• Manage and support Sybase ASE and PostgreSQL databases.
• Perform database installation, upgrades, patching, backup, and recovery.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Tune databases and application queries for optimal performance.
• Manage database access, user logins, and security.
• Support production incidents, service requests, and change activities.
• Handle replication, clustering, schema management, and partition management.
• Perform database maintenance activities including index and DBCC management.
• Support development teams in resolving database-related issues.
• Manage scheduled jobs using Control-M or similar tools.
• Perform capacity planning and ensure database availability.
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, and project teams.
• Maintain documentation and follow ITIL processes and best practices.

• 58 years of experience in Sybase Database Administration.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Sybase ASE 15.x and above
• Sybase Replication Server
• PostgreSQL 12.x and above
• Experience with backup, recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with database installation, upgrades, and patching.
• Knowledge of replication and clustering.
• Experience in Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience with Shell Scripting, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, or T-SQL.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow ticketing tool and HP OMI monitoring.
• Good understanding of ITIL processes.

• Sybase or PostgreSQL certification.
• Banking domain or production support experience.
• Experience working in an SLA-driven environment.
