Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Trader - Energy Trading Company

Overview
This is an independent trading company platform in Singapore, with its parent company owning and operating mid to downstream assets. The company is looking to expand its trading capabilities to support the decarbonisation of aviation, and is now looking to hire a SAF Trader based in Singapore. This will be a first hire for the team.

Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, the SAF Trader will be responsible for developing and executing SAF transactions across multiple geographies. The role centres on originating new trading opportunities, structuring spot and term deals, and cultivating long‑term partnerships with producers, airlines, distributors, and market intermediaries. You will analyse price movements, regulatory frameworks, and supply-demand dynamics to identify arbitrage opportunities, while working closely with internal risk, operations, and sustainability teams to ensure robust execution and risk management. In addition, you will contribute to building market intelligence and shaping trading strategies in a rapidly evolving SAF landscape.

Requirements
The successful candidate brings solid experience in commodities trading, ideally within biofuels, refined products, or related environmental markets, with a demonstrable track record in physical or third‑party trading. A strong understanding of SAF supply chains, feedstocks, and certification schemes is essential, along with well‑honed commercial judgement and negotiation skills. Familiarity with sustainability‑linked regulations and carbon mechanisms is advantageous. You should be comfortable operating independently in entrepreneurial environments and able to engage effectively with stakeholders across the Asia‑Pacific region and beyond.
