Summary
Seeking a dynamic and strategic Innovation Project Lead to join the APAC Innovation Station in Singapore. The role involves leading and executing innovation projects focused on sustainable development, circular economy and low-carbon solutions. The successful candidate will manage and execute sustainable innovation projects that contribute to strategic goals, drive sustainable development and foster a culture of creativity and continuous improvement within the organization.
The projects could include:
- The delivery of proof of concept of circular economy loop
- The development of services around energy efficiency
- The creation of circular business models
- Optimization of existing railway components
About the Job
Strategic Planning & Scoping
- Proactively identify, frame, and prioritize strategic pain points and unmet needs across the organization
- Define and propose innovative, scalable solutions, including new concepts, business models, technologies, or partnerships aligned with company's sustainability and innovation ambitions
- Create a pipeline of new innovation opportunities, fostering a continuous flow of ideas and initiatives
- Select innovations to be developed and for those, establish clear project vision, objectives, success criteria and a robust and executable roadmap, and take those through validation, launch, and initial deployment.
- Engage, and align internal stakeholders, external partners, suppliers, startups, and research institutions as required
Project Leadership & Management
- Manage project timelines, resources, budgets, and risks.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Report project progress, insights, and results to leadership.
- Align and engage all onboard internal stakeholders, external partners, suppliers, startups, and research institutions as required
- Identify Domain director(s) to Secure sponsorship and catcher for handover at the end of the innovation journey
- Ensure timely delivery of key milestones confirming:
- Customer desirability
- Technical feasibility
- Market accessibility
Project Execution
- Conduct market studies, customer interviews, and partner identification
- When appropriate, define the next innovation phase, including project scope, objectives, planning, budget and key deliverables
- Analyze regulatory contexts (e.g., carbon finance, waste management)
- Oversee lab testing and MVP development
- Perform financial analysis and develop business plans
Deliverables
- Updated project dashboards (planning, budget, risks, deliverables)
- Project-specific outputs and documentation
- Regular presentations to internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in innovation project management
- Background or training in sustainability. Previous experience in circular economy projects is a plus.
- Academic background: Engineering
- Relevant experience with innovation frameworks and tools, as well as project management
- Excellent communication skills and proven capacity to engage multiple stakeholders
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Previous experience as an intrapreneur is valued
