Lufthansa Technik is currently seeking a highly capable candidate for the position of Surplus Trading Manager for Lufthansa Technik's customers across the Asia Pacific region, based in Singapore. The position reports to Lufthansa Technik's Aircraft Component Services Segment and will be responsible for:
- Monitoring the surplus market to identify new material sources and customers
- Conducting market and competitor analysis to provide insights into market conditions and to promote growth in the region
- Managing vendors and customers to maintain and develop business relations with existing partners
- Managing sourcing and sales channels for surplus materials to minimize purchasing cost and maximize sales revenues
- Forecasting, tracking and achieving surplus purchasing and sales business
- Buying aircraft, tearing down components, and handle aircraft teardown projects in Asia Pacific
- Interacting and aligning with internal stakeholders, such as Corporate Purchasing and Sales, to identify sources to acquire required assets and materials
- Evaluating surplus materials (packages), preparing and reporting to management as required
- Participating in regular meetings to coordinate activities and share knowledge on market development in different regions
- Identify and incorporate constructive improvements internally to ensure business objectives achieved.

Your Profile
- University degree, preferably in Aviation, Engineering, Business or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in engineering or technical purchasing, preferably in the field of aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) or similar technical services
- Experience in sales or purchasing of surplus components preferred
- Knowledge and experience to check repair certificates, trace and other aircraft component engineering data
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Knowledge of an Asian language or German is advantageous
- Proficient in Microsoft Office functions and prior experience with SAP preferred
- High degree of intercultural competency and strong understanding of Asian cultures
- Excellent customer service skills with customer-oriented attitude, and a strong ability to build close relationships with customers
- Like working with people, solving problems, and developing yourself by being challenged in your day-to-day work
- Able to work independently, and possess a high level of business, project management, analysis and conceptual skills
- Self-driven with the motivation to adapt and solve complex challenges
- Ability to represent Lufthansa Technik in a consistent and professional way
- Able to travel to Germany, USA and within the Asia Pacific region
