Job Description
Position Title: Supply Chain Manager
Industry: Traditional Food & Kuih Manufacturing
(Ang Ku Kuih, Huat Kuih, Dumplings, Soon Kuih, etc.)
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for end-to-end supply chain planning and control, ensuring uninterrupted production through effective coordination of procurement, inventory management, logistics, and supplier performance. The role requires strong planning, decision-making, and cross-functional coordination to support daily production as well as peak seasonal demand.
This is a managerial and analytical role, accountable for supply continuity, cost efficiency, and operational reliability in a time-sensitive food manufacturing environment.
Supply Chain Planning & Control
Plan and manage end-to-end supply chain activities to support daily production and seasonal peak demand
Forecast material requirements based on production plans, historical usage, and business demand
Establish supply chain strategies to minimise disruption, shortages, and excess inventory
Procurement & Supplier Coordination
Oversee procurement activities and supplier sourcing in coordination with the Procurement function
Evaluate supplier performance on pricing, quality, delivery reliability, and responsiveness
Lead negotiations on supply terms, delivery schedules, and contingency arrangements
Inventory & Stock Governance
Define inventory policies, safety stock levels, and replenishment cycles
Monitor stock movement, shelf-life considerations, and wastage control
Ensure raw materials and packaging are available in accordance with production timelines
Logistics & Distribution Oversight
Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and finished goods
Plan delivery schedules and distribution flow to wholesalers, retailers, and outlets
Ensure supply chain readiness during festive periods and high-demand cycles
Operational Risk & Continuity Management
Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation and contingency plans
Ensure operational continuity during supplier disruptions, demand spikes, or logistical constraints
Support management in crisis planning and operational decision-making
Reporting & Management Support
Prepare supply chain performance reports, cost analysis, and efficiency reviews
Provide management with data-driven insights for operational and strategic decisions
Support continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain processes
This is a high-responsibility managerial role supporting time-sensitive food production
Early coordination and extended hours may be required to ensure supply readiness and production continuity
Working hours may vary based on production schedules, supplier delivery windows, and business needs
Experience in supply chain management, logistics, or operations planning, preferably in food manufacturing or FMCG
Strong analytical, planning, and stakeholder management skills
Knowledge of inventory control, procurement coordination, and logistics workflows
Ability to manage operational pressure, tight timelines, and complex supply dependencies
