Scope:
- Our client is facing significant supply chain disruptions across several critical suppliers in Asia, specifically in Singapore, Taiwan, and Malaysia. The affected sites are experiencing production delays, backlog accumulation, and reliability issues that require immediate, on site intervention.
- The mission consists of a structured, short term crisis recovery intervention aimed at rapidly stabilizing supplier performance and restoring delivery commitments.
- The Senior Field Representative / Expeditor will be deployed on site at supplier locations in Asia, up to 5 days per week, to identify production constraints, drive operational recovery actions, and ensure adherence to delivery commitments.
- This role requires strong leadership at supplier sites, analytical rigor, and the ability to deliver tangible improvements under an obligation-of-results framework.
Ideal Profile:
- A senior, hands-on operational expert capable of quickly establishing authority at supplier sites, diagnosing complex supply chain problems, and driving fast, measurable improvements.
- Strong international exposure, cultural adaptability, and experience managing crisis situations are essential.
Responsibilities:
Diagnostic Phase (12 weeks)
- Root cause analysis
- Capacity vs. demand assessment
- Backlog characterization
- Commitment reliability review
Build the portfolio of critical part numbers, including prioritization and Lines of Balance.
Recovery Deployment Phase
- Act as the main operational representative of the client at the supplier's premises.
- Lead daily follow ups with production, planning, logistics, and quality teams.
- Drive execution of the validated recovery plan and monitor supplier progress.
- Implement and facilitate weekly governance routines focused on: OTD recovery, Backlog reduction, Production reliability
- Commitment adherence over a 12-week horizon
- Escalate risks and blocking points, proposing mitigation actions in real time.
- Deliver measurable performance improvements (95% OTD on critical parts, stabilization of flow).
Stabilization & Exit Phase
- Prepare a comprehensive stabilization and transition plan to hand back governance to internal teams.
- Integrate mid and long term actions into continuous improvement initiatives.
- Produce the RETEX (Return on Experience) report summarizing structural recommendations.
Role Requirements
- On site presence at suppliers in Singapore, Malaysia (Kedah), and Taiwan, depending on assignment.
- Ability to travel frequently and mobilize rapidly.
- Flexibility to operate in dynamic, fast paced, and high pressure industrial environments.
- Availability for a short term mission (initial duration 3 months 6 months)
Required Skills & Experience:
Technical & Operational Expertise
- 10+ years of experience in supply chain recovery, expediting, or operational excellence.
Strong command of:
- Industrial diagnostics
- Production & capacity planning
- Lean / Six Sigma tools
- KPI based operational governance
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and ability to influence non direct reports.
- High autonomy, resilience, and comfort working under pressure.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills (weekly KPI dashboards, escalation notes).
Certifications (preferred)
- Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
- APICS CPIM / CSCP
- Experience in EN9100 / ISO9001 quality environments (required)
