Responsibilities
- Drive immediate containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for defects found during incoming inspection or production.
- Collaborate closely with Buyers and Vendors to resolve defect cases promptly.
- Lead internal corrective actions and determine disposition for defects under company responsibility.
- Promote continuous quality improvement across the supplier base to achieve corporate goals.
- Conduct supplier assessments and audits according to the audit plan.
- Guide new vendors to meet company quality standards.
- Prepare and present quality reports for internal and management meetings.
- Conduct Quality Performance Reviews with suppliers.
- Make MRB (Material Review Board) decisions and ensure timely follow-up actions.
- Monitor and achieve key inspection metrics (incoming defect rate, ship-to-stock rate, inspection backlog, SCAR metrics).
- Ensure compliance with ISO9000 Quality Systems, safety, and 5S requirements.
- Manage and plan inspection schedules to meet company requirements.
- Oversee departmental safety reporting.
Requirements
- Min. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electromechanical preferred)
- Min 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of inspection techniques for first article and production validation of components and assemblies.
- Proficient in inspection tools - from vernier calipers to advanced CMM inspection.
- Experience in mechanical commodities (machining, sheet metal, frames, consumables) and/or electrical commodities (PCBA, box build, cable & harness).
- Able to interpret complex mechanical and electrical drawings, including geometric tolerancing.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
