Department: Component Servicing Workshop
Job Purpose
To supervise a group of Tyreman, Storekeeper, Admin and Contractors for the Tyre measurement, changing and store management for Strides Premier Tyre Services business under Commercial Business Unit which include (not limited to) Tyre mounting, Tyre Dismounting, Tyre Replacement, Tyre depth measurement, data recording, store accounting, data capturing and report generating for our bus fleet. Supervise the three operating sites namely Woodlands Bus Depot, Gali Batu Bus Depot and Soon Lee Bus Depot.
Core Responsibilities
- Ensure daily tyre measurement, changing and store management work are performed accordingly to agreement with SMRT Buses.
- Liaise with Bus Workshop for PM and CM tyre services.
- Ensure Tyre within the tyrestore meeting the minimum storage quantity and are accounted.
- Ensure Tyre condition in store are safe to use.
- Ensure Tyreman and storekeeper maintain accurate and up to date records and data using internal management systems or programme like Word or Excel etc.
- Ensure proper storage for tyre that are due for disposal and inform administrative staff when require to dispose.
- Ensure proper housekeeping of the tyrestore.
- Ensure priority setting in daily job distribution based on job requirement.
- Ensure all section members know their job scope well.
- Ensure all instructions are passed down clearly to every member.
- Responsible for any problem arises within the section.
- Ensure all job cards and relevant documents are properly completed.
- Conduct morning briefing, take staff attendance and inform officer in-charge if any staff is absent without official leave.
- To comply safety plans/Programs on Personnel, Environment, Equipment and Processes within the department.
- To understand OSHA 18000 and ISO 14000 movement.
- Responsible for department WSH and Risk Assessment (RA) implementation and movement.
- Ensure all staffs do proper dispose of used tyre in an appropriate manner.
- Look after welfare of staff under command.
- Look after the training and development of staff under command.
- Conduct performance appraisal for staff under command.
- Assist Executive/ Manager/AGM/ GM on staff utilization.
- Any other tasks and assignments given by superior as part of training and development.
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience : Prior experience in automotive industry especially tyre related work or service is an advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook etc.
- Able to read, write and communicate in English.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications/ Certifications Required
NTC 2 (MVM, HDDM, AM) with 8 years of experience or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
