Job Description

The Construction Supervisor is responsible for supervising site activities, coordinating workers and subcontractors, and ensuring construction works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, timelines, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Supervision & Daily Operations

  • Supervise daily construction activities on site to ensure work progresses according to schedule

  • Ensure works are carried out in compliance with approved drawings, method statements, and specifications

  • Coordinate and monitor workers, subcontractors, and suppliers on site

  • Ensure proper use of materials, tools, and equipment

2. Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce site safety rules and ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations

  • Conduct daily safety briefings

  • Identify hazards, implement control measures, and stop unsafe work when necessary

  • Ensure workers follow safety procedures

3. Quality Control

  • Monitor workmanship quality and rectify defects promptly

  • Conduct site inspections and checks to ensure quality standards are met

  • Coordinate rectification works and follow up on non-conformities

4. Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise with Project Manager, Site Engineer, consultants, and subcontractors

  • Communicate site instructions clearly to workers and subcontractors

  • Attend site meetings and report progress, issues, and delays

5. Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track daily work progress and manpower deployment

  • Prepare daily site reports, work records, and incident reports

  • Highlight delays, material shortages, or site constraints to management

6. Material & Resource Management

  • Monitor material delivery, usage, and storage on site

  • Ensure materials meet specifications and are properly handled

  • Prevent material wastage and damage

7. Problem Solving & Site Issues

  • Resolve site issues and conflicts efficiently

  • Assist in implementing corrective actions to minimize delays

  • Support smooth coordination between trades

Requirements & Competencies

Relevant experience in construction or civil engineering

Minimum 3 years of site supervision experience

Knowledge of construction methods, drawings, and specifications

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillskills
