The Site Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations on construction sites, ensuring that the work is completed according to project specifications, on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety regulations. They manage construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers while coordinating tasks and addressing issues as they arise. The Site Supervisor also ensures quality control and adheres to company policies and industry standards.
Site Management: Supervise all on-site activities, ensuring the construction process runs smoothly from start to finish.
Team Coordination: Manage, direct, and motivate construction workers, subcontractors, and other personnel to meet deadlines and work efficiently.
Safety Oversight: Ensure that all construction activities follow health and safety regulations and that the site is a safe working environment.
Quality Control: Monitor the quality of work, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with project specifications and local building codes.
Resource Management: Oversee the delivery, storage, and usage of materials, tools, and equipment on-site, ensuring optimal usage.
Scheduling: Help develop and maintain construction schedules, ensuring projects stay on track and within deadlines.
Problem Solving: Address and resolve issues on-site, including delays, material shortages, or unforeseen challenges.
Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients, ensuring effective communication and reporting.
Documentation: Maintain daily reports on project progress, work completed, and any issues encountered. Document any incidents or safety violations.
Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong leadership and supervisory skills to manage teams effectively.
Excellent knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety standards.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical drawings.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend) is often preferred.
Good communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
Job Requirements
Education and Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
A degree or diploma in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Certification in construction safety (e.g., OSHA) is often required.
