Responsibilities
- Lead daily operational activities to ensure seamless execution and continuous improvement of waste sorting processes
- Guide and coach employees to enhance productivity and maintain high performance standards
- Deliver on-the-job training to new staff to accelerate their integration and effectiveness
- Identify operational inefficiencies and develop actionable recommendations to optimize workflows
- Recruit and select quality employees to strengthen customer support and operational excellence
- Enforce compliance with safety protocols during waste sorting operations to maintain a safe work environment
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment essential for waste sorting tasks
- Design and implement departmental policies, procedures, goals, and objectives aligned with organizational strategy
- Develop and execute strategies to improve departmental performance metrics and operational outcomes
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to support overall operational management and problem resolution
- Execute additional work-related tasks as assigned to support business objectives
Required competencies and certifications
- Ability to stand for extended periods while performing waste sorting duties
- Proficient knowledge of operational procedures and policies relevant to waste sorting and department management
- Strong project management skills demonstrated by planning and executing operational initiatives
- Effective administrative and organizational skills to manage departmental functions
- Proven leadership and decision-making capabilities to guide teams and resolve operational challenges
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and stakeholder engagement
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Degree in Business or Management field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience
