Job Summary
Lead and coordinate structural design and temporary works for civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with authorities and resolving design, production, and quality issues to support successful infrastructure project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Review design packages and prepare or approve shop drawings for reinforced concrete structural works and temporary works such as struts and walers
- Coordinate structural design activities with civil consultants, accreditation checkers, architectural/SWC consultants, construction teams, and authorities as needed
- Design temporary works including scaffolding, falsework, and formwork related to structural engineering requirements
- Lead or assist project teams in resolving design-related challenges to maintain project progress and quality
- Manage and resolve issues related to production, quality, design, engineering, and project scheduling to ensure timely delivery
- Perform additional duties as required to support project objectives
Required competencies and certifications
- Experience in infrastructure projects is mandatory, with preference for Land Transport Authority (LTA) projects
- Proficient knowledge and application of structural design and analysis software such as STADD and AutoCAD or Microstation
- Good knowledge of regulatory and authorities requirements relevant to structural engineering projects
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in civil and structural works
- Site experience in underground roadway projects
- Experience in design management and collaboration with structural engineering consultants
