We are seeking a Strategy Manager, Office of the Group Managing Director in our Singapore office. The role will support the Group Managing Director and the Executive Committee by helping develop and shape the Group's forward-looking strategy and planning.
The position will:
- Initially focus on the shipping business, with potential to expand later into the Group's non-shipping investments.
- Require strong financial analysis skills and the ability to connect numbers to strategy and future implications.
- Understand the Group's business operations, culture, values, history and decision-making trade-offs.
- Review past performance with strategic insight and supporting forward planning with rigor.
- Building relationships across the Group and developing depth in Finance Planning, Commercial and Fleet Management.
- Support Executive Committee by gathering, connecting and analyzing information for quarterly reviews and long-term planning.
- Expect to grow from compiling inputs to form independent views, challenging assumptions and making recommendations.
Desirable candidate:
- Strong financial and analytical skills, with confidence in interpreting results beyond surface-level reporting.
- Able to connect financial and operational numbers to the broader strategic story and future business implications.
- Curious about how the business works, why decisions are made and what assumptions sit behind them.
- Comfortable working in a newly created, evolving role without a fixed day-to-day playbook.
- Patient and humble in building trust, relationships and credibility across divisions and with the Executive Committee
- Willing to learn the shipping business in depth, even without extensive prior shipping experience.
- Capable of asking thoughtful questions, investigating unclear issues and forming informed views over time.
- Able to support senior-level planning, including quarterly reviews and long-term Group planning.
- Demonstrates sound judgment, ownership, follow-through and growing independence.
Qualifications:
- Degree holder or above in Economics, Business Administration, Management, Finance or related discipline.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years related work experience in strategy development, business analysis, management consulting, or related roles, preferably in a corporate or multinational environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and competency in data analysis and presentation.
