Strategy Manager, Media Dentsu

As a Strategy Manager at Dentsu, you will play a key role in shaping strategic thinking across a portfolio of clients and supporting new business efforts. You will work closely with client teams and cross-functional partners to develop integrated communication strategies that drive clear business outcome. This role is offered on a 12-month contract.

This role requires strong strategic fundamentals, analytical rigour, and the ability to translate insights into practical, actionable solutions. You will balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, contributing to high-quality outputs while influencing teams and stakeholders through clarity, collaboration, and credibility.

The successful candidate will contribute to Dentsu's vision of Innovating for Impact, supporting the development and application of products, tools, and data-led solutions across existing and new clients. You will report into the Head of Strategy, Media Group Singapore and collaborate closely with APAC strategy colleagues, as well as Creative and CXM service lines.

Key areas of impact include

  • Supporting the development of integrated communication strategies in partnership with client leaders and multi-disciplinary teams across media, creative, and CXM. This includes helping to clarify complex marketing challenges through the effective use of client, platform, and agency data.
  • Working closely with senior client stakeholders (typically up to senior management level) to provide strategic guidance that brings focus, alignment, and consistency to business and marketing initiatives.
  • Contributing to QBRs, strategic presentations, and planning discussions, translating marketing objectives into clear success metrics, KPIs, and learning agendas.
  • Supporting the development of go-to-market strategies, including defining the role of media, audiences, platforms, and user journeys within broader communication ecosystems.
  • Collaborating with planning teams to embed full-funnel thinking, ensuring awareness, consideration, and conversion strategies are aligned to client objectives and measurable outcomes.
  • Helping establish and apply best-practice strategic processes, frameworks, and measurement approaches across client work.
  • Contributing to the delivery of Dentsu's products and solutions, and supporting the use of proprietary tools, consumer research, and first-party data to inform strategy, planning, and activation.
  • Playing an active role in new business and pitch processes, including strategic development, storytelling, and presentation support.

Personal Specifications

  • 56+ years experience in strategy and planning within a media agency, consultancy, or related environment, with a strong foundation in media and communications strategy.
  • Experience contributing to strategy development for pitches and new business, with exposure to winning work preferred.
  • Experience working across multi-market or regional teams; exposure to Financial Services and/or digital-first brands is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of how media and communications drive business and brand outcomes, with the ability to translate performance data and consumer journeys into strategic recommendations.
  • Experience working on large or complex accounts, including integrated campaigns across multiple channels and markets.
  • Comfortable working with audience data, insights, and research to inform strategic decisions and media planning.
  • Exposure to one or more of the following capability areas:
  • Analytics and effectiveness measurement
  • Data and audience strategy (sizing, targeting, activation)
  • Research and insights (bespoke and agile approaches)
  • Content, customer experience, and creative collaboration
  • Ecommerce and retail media
  • A clear, confident communicator with strong presentation skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • A strategic and critical thinker who can see the bigger picture while remaining detail-oriented in execution.
  • A collaborative, approachable team player who is comfortable leading through influence, working across functions, and contributing positively to team culture and outcomes.
